moving suggestions
- Do NOT pack flammable items, aerosol cans, liquids (especially cleaning agents as them may combine to make corrosive or explosive chemicals), candles, cash, jewelry, important/irreplaceable documents.
- If you are in the market for a long-distance move, it is a good idea to get an in-home estimate.
- Take an inventory of your belongings prior to having us load them on the truck.
- Leave a note at your old house with the new address and phone number on it.
- If you want us to arrange your furniture please have a plan ahead of time of where you want it.
- Drivers usually don't carry cash so if you're paying with cash, please have exact change ready.
- Begin to use up supplies that aren't worth the trouble of transporting, such as, canned goods, frozen foods and other household items.
- When shopping, buy only that which will be used prior to your move.
- Notify us ahead of time if you wish to add/subtract items from your move, or if there are any scheduling changes.
- Arrange any extra stops required to pick up or deliver additional goods and make sure the location is accessible to the moving crew.
- Please make sure there is enough room for the moving truck on your property. Also, allow for the loading ramp, which can be up to 16 feet in length.
- If you are having your vehicle transported by way of "driveaway", please make sure it is prepared and in excellent operating condition. It is important to have a qualified professional inspect the vehicle's oil, brakes, cooling system, fluids, electrical system, etc.
- Point out your fragile/special care items.
- If you are doing your own packing, please make sure everything is ready before the mover's scheduled arrival time.
- It's important to unplug electronic appliances in advance, so that they will cool down to room temperature by moving day. These same items should not be used for 24 hours after delivery to allow them time to adjust back to room temperature.
- Track your shipment online and call us if you have any questions.
